Local authority wants views on draft dog byelaws

Areas of exclusion could include play areas around Garff

Garff Commissioners are looking for residents’ views on a set of new dog by-laws.

The local authority says there are 'provisions' to exclude dogs from school grounds, the Laxey Football Club pitch and all play areas around the parish.

Other restrictions could include Dhoon Arboretum, The Corony and Cronk Cardle Estate, and Maughold Village.

Any new by-laws will be put before Tynwald.

A copy of the draft legislation can be found on the commissioners’ website and residents have until noon on 20 April to submit their views.
