The Corrin Memorial Home closed in 2021
There are no approved proposals, capital programmes, or allocated budget for additional residential or nursing-home capacity in the west.
The update came in a written reply to a Tynwald question from Glenfaba and Peel MHK Katryna Baptist.
Minister for Health and Social Care Claire Christian said the DHSC entered discussions with the trustees of the Corrin Memorial Home in 2021 regarding the potential acquisition of the property following its closure.
She said the site was considered 'not simply as a replacement residential home, but as part of a wider model of integrated primary, community, health and care provision serving the West of the Island'.
However, the minister added: "There remained material differences between the parties regarding valuation, the assumptions underpinning those valuations and the conditions associated with a potential sale."
She also confirmed that the future needs of Peel and the west 'will form an important part of a longer-term Health and Social Care strategy that the department will be developing'.
