Biskee Brisht 'proud to be producing new contemporary music in the Manx language'
This weekend will see the launch of a world first here on the Island: the first ever album produced as a dual release - one in English, one in Manx.
Recorded entirely in both languages, with translations by Bob Carswell, the album from local band Biskee Brisht will be released on Saturday (31 January).
Its creation and release has been supported by Culture Vannin via grant funding.
Titled Treading Water / Brebbal Ushtey, the body of work represents four years of writing for the group.
The band says: "Launched as part of the Blein Ny Gaelgey (Year of the Manx Language), the whole album has been recorded in both English and Manx Gaelic.
"We’re so proud to be producing new contemporary music in the Manx language and we hope you enjoy experiencing it as much as we have enjoyed making it!"
