The founders of a endometriosis support group are calling for more support for people with the condition.
March is Endometriosis Awareness Month with the theme for the year being 'ask if it could be endometriosis'.
One in 10 females suffer with the condition which causes severe pelvic pain, heavy periods and infertility.
Founders of the Manx Endometriosis Support Facebook group Karen Bell and Sharon Lunt, who are holding a awareness walk next week says early diagnosis is crucial but only 'pockets' of people are getting through quicker.
'Early diagnosis will improve fertility outcomes, alleviates pain and improves overall quality of life for people with endometriosis and their loved ones'
They added they'd like to see other medical markers like saliva tests available in GP surgeries around the Island to confirm if a person has the condition:
Manx Radio has contacted the health body for comment. It told us: "The representatives for Manx Care who are best placed to respond to this are currently unavailable.
"However, diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis forms part of the Women’s Health Strategy which is an important, ongoing piece of work for Manx Care and a response will be provided as soon as possible."
