Local man and van business facing closure

Firm says it hasn't received any gov't support

recent survey from the Chamber of Commerce found that more than a quarter of the Island's businesses don't expect to remain viable through the coronavirus pandemic.

Some local firms are already being forced to fold.

Gareth Hardinge runs Fast Forward Man and Van Services, which covers things like removals and tip runs.

He took to social media to announce "with great sadness and a heavy heart" that he feels he's unable to keep the business afloat, having used up his savings whilst out of work under Covid-19 restrictions:

Treasury Minister Alf Cannan was asked by Manx Radio's Tim Glover if he would accept that many businesses have not had the timely help that they needed, and have folded as a result:
