Barton wants 'inspirational' Mark Cavendish to be recognised
A local sculptor has called for a statue of Mark Cavendish to be erected.
The Manx Missile is currently level with Eddie Merckx's Tour De France record of 34 stage wins.
Amanda Barton has immortalised Sir William Hillary, Sir Norman Wisdom, T. E. Brown, Joey Dunlop and George Formby, among others, in public art.
