Airline to drop Isle of Man to London City route
Loganair has announced it is dropping its London City route next month.
From 25 October, the airline will instead increase its daily flights to London Heathrow.
Rather than one flight a day, Ronaldsway says there will be morning and evening flights Monday to Friday.
The airport said the change to the taxpayer subsidised routes come 'following a review aimed at aligning services with customer demand'.
Passenger figures for August 2026 showed that there were 278 fewer people using the London City route compared to August last year, a drop of almost 20 percent.
By comparison, the Heathrow route grew just over 2 percent.
Earlier this year, Treasury Minister Chris Thomas told Tynwald that a subsidy 'is provided to Loganair in respect of air services to London Heathrow and London City'.
He added: "The amount of subsidy is directly attributable to the forecast costs of providing these services versus the revenue generated through ticket sales and ancillary spend.”
Mr Thomas also confirmed that review of routes was ongoing with all commercial carriers serving the Island.
