23-year-old appears virtually at Douglas courthouse
A man suspected of swallowing drugs later passed cocaine and cannabis after being detained and taken to hospital.
Twenty-three-year-old Liam Luke Kaighin appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes, at Douglas Courthouse, via a live video link from the Isle of Man Prison.
He admitted one count each of possessing cannabis, possessing cocaine, assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest and causing criminal damage.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court on 5 June last year Kaighin was arrested and taken to Noble’s Hospital by police.
He was kept under observation until he used the toilet and produced 0.8 grammes of cannabis and 1.5 grammes of cocaine with a combined value of around £200.
On 26 December he was arrested again, in Strang, and headbutted a police officer during a struggle.
And when he was put in a cell at police headquarters he clogged a toilet, and caused a flood, before defecating.
There was no bail application and Kaighin was remanded in custody to appear in court again on 2 February.
