Man and woman accused of attacking car salesman

Union Mills couple bailed in sum of £500

A man and woman from Union Mills have appeared in court, accused of attacking a car salesman and stealing his mobile phone.

Richard Malcolm Powell and Emma Louise Mardlin, both of Lhergy Cripperty, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

Sixty-year-old Mr Powell is charged with causing actual bodily harm, while both he and 38 year old Miss Mardlin face an allegation of theft.

No pleas have yet been entered.

The court heard the allegations relate to an incident at BCC Cars in Kirk Michael on 20 December last year.

Mrs Hughes bailed both in the sum of £500 on condition they don’t enter BBC Cars, and they’ll appear in court again on 10 May.
