Man arrested after drunken fall into sea

42-year-old pleads guilty to drunk and disorderly charges

A man who drunkenly fell into the sea after an argument with his partner was arrested after he returned to their home, a court's heard.

Forty-two-year-old Lee Joseph Bargh of Falcon Cliff Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on 18 August outside his home.

Prosecution advocate Barry Swain told the hearing Bargh had met up with is partner after she’d been drinking while he was in work.

When he took her to buy a kebab, they argued after she claimed he'd looked at another woman and he agreed to leave the home.

But at 5:30am she called police when he tried to get back into the building, and officers discovered he was soaking wet.

He told them he needed dry clothes, but asked officers to arrest him when they told him they’d find dry clothes for him.

Bargh was fined £400 and ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
