Prosecution withdraws charge of driving without due care
An 82-year-old man’s been fined after his recently-repaired brakes were so faulty they caused a car crash.
Anthony Frank Axup of Janet’s Corner in Castletown appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to having a dangerous or unroadworthy vehicle after crashing into another car on the New Castletown Road in Douglas at 3.30pm on 8 April.
Prosecution advocate Barry Swain withdrew a further charge of driving without due care and attention, as Ax up's brakes were the root cause of the incident.
