Man placed on sex offenders register after assaulting teen

55-year-old pleads guilty to sexual assault

A Douglas man's been spared prison after indecently assaulting a 17-year-old who went to the same church.

Fifty-five-year-old year old Reynaldo Tagic Estoque, of Central Promenade, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He'd pleaded guilty to carrying out the sex assault on 17 September last year at his home.

Prosecution advocate Hazel Carroon said Estoque had met his victim by chance, in Douglas, and invited him home after buying him a meal.

As the man played electric piano in Estoque's room the registered nurse made suggestive comments, sniffed the teenager's face and kissed his neck.

The court heard the man left after Estoque grabbed his crotch twice - in a statement he said he still had nightmares about the incident.

Estoque was put on probation for two years as well as being ordered to do 120 hours of community service.

He'll have to pay £125 in prosecution costs and £1,000 compensation to his victim.

Mrs Hughes also put him on the sex offenders' register for two years.
