Man pleads guilty over indecent images of children

Sentence to be given at end of April

Magistrates have allowed a man who possessed indecent images of children to baby-sit his 11 year old son.

The 44 year old from Port Erin has pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing a total of 29 indecent images of children.

He’s currently on bail as he awaits sentence on April 30.

The court heard he'd moved in with his mother after his conviction, but wanted to be able to stay at the home he'd shared with his wife.

The court heard a bail condition meant the man had to stay at his mother’s home in Port Erin each night, but wanted to be able to stay in Douglas.

The hearing was told the 11 year old’s mother had hobbies such as amateur dramatics and wanted her husband to look after their child.

In total, he'd admitted possessing 29 indecent images of children but his advocate told the court most were in the least serious category.

Magistrates agreed to vary his bail conditions to let him stay at either address.
