32-year-old jailed for 10 days
A court's heard a Jurby man ignored Coronavirus rules when he got off the ferry and didn't go to his home.
Thirty-two-year-old David Christopher Scott Rowson, of The Bretney, appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse through a video link from the Isle of Man Prison.
He pleaded guilty to a single count of breaching the Island's Coronavirus entry laws on 17 July.
Prosecution advocate Rachael Braidwood told the hearing Rowson got off the ferry from Heysham and was given a direction to go straight home.
Instead, however, Rowson got into a black car with another man and left the area only to return some time later.
He was challenged by security staff at the Sea Terminal and he told them he was preparing to leave the Island.
The court heard he was arrested and had already spent five days in custody.
Magistrates jailed him for 10 days saying he would be freed after his court appearance because of the time he'd already served.
