Man reported multiple times for dangerous driving

37-year-old pleads not guilty to charges

A Ramsey man will appear in court next month after numerous witnesses in the town dialled 999 over his driving.

Thirty-seven-year-old Geraint Hughes of North Shore Road appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He admitted driving while disqualified in an uninsured car which was in a dangerously unroadworthy condition on 24 April.

He entered not guilty pleas to driving while over the legal limit and dangerous driving on the same date.

Prosecution advocate Hazel Carroon told the hearing Hughes forced another driver to make an emergency stop as he overtook another vehicle in a black Toyota Yaris.

Another motorist said the car skidded to a stop next to him at Churchtown, and two men inside laughed before wheel-spinning away.

She added CCTV later showed Hughes getting out of the car at a garage in Ramsey, walking off after an incident involving another witness.

Mrs Hughes bailed him until 28 July when he'll appear again at a pre-trial review hearing.
