Man sentenced to community service after 'rampage' in family home

A court's heard a Ramsey rampaged through his mother’s home, smashing four television sets.

Twenty-seven-year-old Stanley Terrance Thompson-Carey of Brookhill appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to criminal damage at an earlier hearing.

Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing the incident happened just before 5.30pm on 16 January.

Thompson-Carey turned aggressive at the family home in Sulby after an argument about a young child who was about to go to bed.

He punched a TV in front of his mother before leaving the room and damaging three others.

The court heard in total he caused more than £1,500 in damage and had already been bound over the keep the peace following the incident.

He was ordered to do 120 hours of community service and pay £50 towards prosecution costs.
