A Douglas man who swore at a barmaid after she refused to serve him has been fined £900.
David John Alsop, of Ballacottier Meadow, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he admitted being drunk and disorderly on licensed premises.
The 56-year-old had entered Jaks Bar and Smokehouse, on Loch Promenade, on 8 March but was intoxicated so service was refused.
He swore at the member of staff telling her: “You will serve me,” adding: “I’m going to smash your face in,” before pulling at the bar taps.
Representing himself Alsop told the court: “I just want to say sorry – that’s all I want to say.”
Magistrates also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50.
