Coach causes hold-up
The Manannan left Douglas an hour later than scheduled this morning.
There were problems with a coach as it was being driven onto the vessel - it 'bottomed out' and got stuck on the stern door.
This damaged the sump on the coach, and it had to be towed back up the ramp.
Some vehicles, such as vans, had been loaded by this stage, but the cars had not.
Passengers on board were informed, but the Steam Packet offered no updates on its website or social media channels while the issue was ongoing, leaving many in the dark as to why the Manannan was so late to depart.
