Manannan repairs continue

There are no Manannan sailings scheduled for Friday.

The fastcraft has been out of action since last weekend after her engines ingested debris at sea.

Steam Packet Chief Executive Mark Woodward has described the damage caused as the worst he's ever seen.

It's currently hoped Manannan will be able to resume her scheduled service on Saturday morning.

Specialist engineers have been flown in from Europe to help carry out the extensive repair work, and it's hoped new parts can be fitted and harbour tests completed in time for sailings to continue on Saturday.

Passengers booked on the 3pm sailing to Liverpool will be automatically transferred to the 7.45pm sailing to Heysham and those booked on the 7.15pm sailing from Liverpool will be automatically transferred to the 02.15am sailing from Heysham tomorrow morning.

A coach will depart the terminal in Liverpool at 10.45am for those passengers transferring to the 2:15pm departure from Heysham and at 9pm for those transferring to the 2:15am departure Saturday morning.

A coach transfer has also been arranged for those passengers that require onward transfer to Liverpool terminal once the Ben-my-Chree sailings arrive in Heysham.

Passengers booked on Friday's 7.30am sailing to Liverpool and the 11.15am from Liverpool should contact reservations on 01624 661 661 to make alternative arrangements.
