Manx award for student

A student at QEII High School in Peel is celebrating after winning a prestigious Manx Gaelic award.

Chloe Spooner, a Year 10 student, wrote an essay about a day in her life in Manx – and she’s now been presented with Aundyr Lettyragh by the Friends of the Manx Language.

The Literacy Award is presented each year to the secondary school student who writes the best pieces of writing in Manx.

Chloe is English but started learning Manx some years ago when she found out her friends at Marown Primary School were having special lessons – and she’s now studying for a GCSE in Manx.
