Manx Care Opening Times during TT

Most services to shut on both bank holidays

Manx Care has released an update to its services during the TT fortnight. 

The Emergency Department and MEDS (Manx Emergency Doctors Service) will be operating as normal during the festival; MEDS are open from 6pm until 8am each day over TT.

And the MIU will be open from 8am-8pm (last opportunity to book in 19:30) for the whole of the TT festival.

Most other health-related services will be running as usual but will be closed on the two bank holidays, which are Monday 29 May and Friday 9 June. 

All of the following will be shut on both bank holiday days:
  • GP practices, which are also closed on weekends, but cover will be provided by MEDS.
  • The Diabetes Centre, however a Specialist Advisory Service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Details can be found on at manxradio.com.  and is accessible by calling (07624) 254089 or diabetes/endocrineadvice.nobles@gov.im.
  • Community Dental Services and NHS Contracted Dental Services - emergency dental care can be provided by the Emergency dental service between 09:00 and 11:00 on bank holidays and weekends. The rota is available here.
  • Optician practices. There will be no MECS cover – urgent eye conditions will be seen via MEDS or ED.
  • All community-based Therapy and Podiatry services.
  • The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service. Any emails or voicemails will be picked up from Tuesday 30 May and Monday 12 June onwards.
  • MCALS. Any emails or voicemails will be picked up from Tuesday 30 May and Monday 12 June onwards. MCALS Drop in sessions will not be held at Onchan Library on Friday 01 June or at Ramsey Town Hall on Monday 05 June.
  • The Vaccination Team will not be offering any vaccines on Monday 29 May or from Monday 05 June to Friday 09 June.
  • Breastfeeding Buddies will not be running over the TT fortnight in either venue (Douglas/North). Breastfeeding Buddies will resume in St Johns Ambulance HQ on Wednesday 14 June at 09.30 and in Andreas school on Friday the 16 June at 1300.
