Coral and Pearl Hostels Trust planning a sponsored walk for June
A Manx charity which helps to educate disadvantaged girls in Tanzania says it’s planning a special fundraising walk in June to raise money to assist more children.
The Coral and Pearl Hostels Trust supports girls through primary school and into university.
It runs two projects in the African country - the first to provide care and accommodation for girls attending school and the second a safehouse for pregnant girls.
Founder Judy Mwarabu says many households choose to send boys to school instead in the hope they’ll support the family when they are old enough to.
She says it’s important that girls are given the same opportunities:
The charity walk is being planned for the end of June.
