Comments follow census furore
Nationalist party Mec Vannin says the Isle of Man wouldn’t need to declare its independence for people to describe their nationality as Manx.
A question on Sunday’s interim census caused outrage when it emerged the government would insist on people putting British – because Manx is only a national identity.
An Isle of Man independent from the UK is one of the central planks of the party’s policies.
But chairman Mark Kermode says the answer wouldn’t necessarily be so complex:
