All affected households should be back on by 6pm
Manx Gas is currently working in the Andreas area, where the gas supply has been interrupted.
The company provided an update just before 2.30pm, saying engineers had completed the turn off of the supply and were reintroducing gas into the network.
They will now start to carry out tests on individual supplies to each affected property.
Manx Gas says all households should be back on by 6pm tonight.
