Manx Government welcomes UK mandate for trade talks with EU

CM Quayle believes there are no surprises

The Manx Government has welcomed the publication of the UK negotiating mandate for trade talks with the European Union.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle has issued a statement in which he says "there are no surprises for us in the UK's approach."

He also says "this is the start of what will undoubtedly be a complex negotiation" and that the Isle of Man Government "will continue to work to achieve the best possible outcome" for the Island.

Earlier today in the House of Commons, Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove warned the EU that the UK will walk away from trade talks in June unless there is a "broad outline" of a deal.
