Association 'delighted and honoured' to be shortlisted
The restoration of a steam railway locomotive on the Isle of Man has been nominated for a UK award.
The Isle of Man Steam Railway Supporters Association has announced the cosmetic revamp of No.5 Mona has been shortlisted for a potential honour by the Heritage Railway Association.
It'll be one of ten projects to compete for the award alongside competitors from the likes of The Corris Railway, The Eastwell History Group and The Foxfield Railway.
The association says it's 'delighted and honoured' to have received the nomination, adding it marks the 'perfect start to the year' in which the 150th anniversary of the Port Erin line will be held from 30 July to 4 August, 2024.
