There’s a new-style number plate on its way to the Isle of Man – but if you haven’t got thousands of pounds to spend, you may be disappointed.
The Department of Infrastructure is planning to introduce plates with the word MANX on them – the first time the Island has had four-letter words on cars.
But according to the regulations which will be up for discussion in Tynwald later this month, you’ll need £100,000 to buy MANX 1 or 1 MANX.
Minister David Cretney says he believes they’ll raise a lot of money for the cash-strapped government:
Amber weather warning issued as strong winds and coastal conditions expected overnight
Hospice funding criticised by UK charity chief amid Isle of Man service cuts
Sailings cancelled as storm brings gale-force winds
Manx Mountain Marathon route diverted over safety concerns amid forecast strong winds
