Manx Telecom broadband issues still not resolved

CEO apologises, with next update due at 8am

More than 24 hours after around 4,000 Manx Telecom customers lost broadband access, the issues still haven't been resolved, and they won't be resolved today, the company says.

A further update for customers is expected at eight o'clock tomorrow morning.

Gary Lamb is the company's CEO.

Shortly before 5:30 this evening, he gave Manx Radio's Dollin Mercer the latest:

A statement issued at 6:15 this evening reads:

"Manx Telecom sincerely apologises again for the disruption some customers are experiencing as a result of the ongoing loss of broadband service to areas across the island.

"We would like to reassure our customers that our engineers continue to work to resolve the situation although we regret that it looks unlikely broadband services will be restored overnight.

"There will be a further update tomorrow at 8am.

"Please note that we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and social media messages and we are working quickly to respond to these.

"Please be assured that any significant development will be communicated as soon as possible."
