Wannenburgh praised for 'exceptional' leadership
Manx Utilities says it’s ‘deeply saddened’ by the death of its chairman.
John Wannenburgh died peacefully in his sleep last night (2 August).
He'd served as MU chair since 2023.
Executive Director Adrian Dobbins has described the Douglas North MHK’s leadership and guidance as ‘exceptional’.
He adds he brought ‘integrity, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to public service’ to the role.
In a statement Mr Dobbins said: "His dedication helped shape the strategic direction of Manx Utilities and his contribution to our organisation will leave a lasting legacy.
"He was greatly respected by everyone who had the privilege of working with him and will be deeply missed by the board, executive team and employees.
"On behalf of the board and executive team, we extend our deepest condolences to John's family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.
"In particular, our thoughts are with John's family and loved ones."
