Oldest ever Guild competitor passes away
A born entertainer and someone who enjoyed being in the spotlight.
That’s how Manxman Laurence Kermode has been described after he passed away at the age of 100.
Mr Kermode was a well-known master of ceremonies in the Island and a regular competitor in the Guild.
Last month, he became the oldest person to ever compete in and win a class in the Manx Music Festival.
Long-time friend Terry Cringle was with him when he celebrated his milestone birthday in April.
