Her announcement came somewhat out of the blue yesterday, with some politicians commentators branding the announcement 'cynical' - and others calling it a 'stunning move'.

Mrs May says she wants 'stability and certainty' ahead of Brexit.

At home, Chief Minister Howard Quayle has said it's too early to judge what impact this could have on the Isle of Man.

He feels Mrs May wouldn't have called for the election unless she was confident in getting approval for it:
