Trust made 'proactive approach' for Dr Andole
Manx Care’s executive medical director is being seconded to an NHS Foundation Trust in England.
Doctor Sreeman Andole is joining the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton as interim executive medical director.
It’s not yet known when he will start.
Dr Andole joined Manx Care in 2021 and is also a stroke consultant; the post of medical director for the Isle of Man was previously held by Dr Rosalind Ranson.
Manx Radio understands the chief executive of Manx Care, Teresa Cope, has written to staff describing it as a ‘great loss’ and explaining the trust had made a ‘proactive approach’ for him.
Expressions of interest for a new interim executive medical director, whilst Dr Andole is seconded, are being accepted internally within Manx Care.
The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust has told Manx Radio its current executive medical director is ‘currently away from the trust’ but hasn't specified why.
Manx Care has not responded to Manx Radio's requests for comment.
