88 percent of members voted to say they had no confidence in the healthcare provider's board
An organisation that represents doctors on the Isle of Man claims a recent vote of no confidence led to the resignations of Manx Care's chief executive and chair.
The Medical Staff Committee says 88 percent of its members recently voted no in a vote of no confidence in the current leadership.
A total of 133 doctors took part in the vote, with 117 saying they had no confidence, 14 confirming they do have confidence and two void votes.
The committee alleges that the preparations for this vote directly triggered the departures of Teresa Cope and Wendy Reid, along with interim director of operations Shaun Stacey.
Ms Cope announced last month that she'll be leaving at the end of June, while Professor Reid said as she'd taken up her role to work with Ms Cope, the time was right for her to do the same.
In a Tynwald written answer published earlier this week, Health Minister Claire Christian confirmed Mr Stacey would be leaving the healthcare provider when his limited term appointment ends.
The body has welcomed the appointment of Manx Care's medical director Chris Stockport as chief executive on an interim basis, describing it as "a vital first step towards positive transformation".
However, it adds that placing one doctor in an interim role does not make Manx Care a medically led organisation, and says it wants to see "immediate, decisive action to dismantle a toxic management culture", and "put patients back at the centre of care."
The committee previously called for a clinician-led board to take charge of Manx Care.
Manx Radio has contacted Manx Care for a response.
