Mental health charity makes 'unashamed' plea for funding

Isle Listen reports 50% increase in demand for services

A mental health charity on the Isle of Man says it's being forced to make an 'unashamed plea' for funding.

Isle Listen has seen a 50 per cent increase in demand for its services.

Next week it will present to the government and business, school and community leaders to highlight the work it's currently doing in schools.

It wants to showcase how it mentally empowers young people on the Isle of Man and how that can improve transition into the workplace.

Andrea Chambers is the chief executive:

The event follows the release of Isle Listen's school service evaluation report for the 2020/21 academic year.

Steven Downward is the schools team lead – he spoke to Manx Radio's Christian Jones:

The event will take place on Thursday, 25 November at the Manx Museum. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
