Mental health patients 'don't always get help in time'

GP says referrals can take time

Patients seeking help with mental health issues don't always get support in time.

That's from a local GP - today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Those who seek help through their GP practice can be referred to the mental health service or can self refer.

But, Dr John Snelling, who is a partner at Peel Medical Centre, says patients aren't always seen right away:
