18 year-old harpist will go to Belfast in April
Manx harpist Mera Royle has joined three other nominees in the final of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards.
She was chosen from hundreds of other young musicians by judges including folk music legends Eliza Carthy, and Tim Van Ekyen.
The eighteen year-old harpist had been invited to perform live in front of the panel, showcasing a range of Manx tunes and some of her own compositions.
The prestigious awards evening is being held at the Waterfront Concert Hall in Belfast on April 4, and will be presented by star of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, Mark Radcliffe.
Mera says she's thrilled to have been nominated and has thanked her Manx friends, family and mentors for their support.
For the last twenty years the Young Folk Awards has attracted a range of musicians aged between 16 and 21, many of which went on to achieve critical acclaim throughout their careers.
Those who pick up the top prize are also given the chance to perform at major folk festivals across the UK.
Tomas Callister and Adam Rhodes are also in contention for a prize in the Horizon Award with their band Imar.
