In Tynwald next week, West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas will try and get the Council of Ministers to make public an important report.
He wants the Ageing Population Working Group's findings to be published now, as they are, rather than the updated version which is said to be forthcoming.
Mr Thomas says a good government publishes what it knows, draws in the expertise from outside and then works with those parties to create a proper, better public policy.
He says there are different theories on the best way forward for the Island - some, for example, feel the population needs to grow:
