No surprise but disappointment at latest health overspend
An MHK says she’s not surprised the health and social care department has gone over budget again.
Tynwald will this month be asked to support an overspend of £9.5 million in the current financial year.
It follows an £11.1 million overspend during 2016/17, and is despite an extra £11 million being allocated to health services in the government's budget for the current financial year.
Onchan member Julie Edge says financial prudence is key, and would help secure much-needed savings in a speedier manner.
