Chris Robertshaw calls for DoI to look at more ambitious options
A member of a Tynwald committee looking into the Island's harbours strategy believes plans to develop a facility for small cruise ships lack strategic thinking.
Chris Robertshaw MHK questioned the proposals for Victoria Pier at a hearing of the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee.
DoI Chief Executive Nick Black and Minister Ray Harmer have been outlining options for the future of Douglas harbour, including extending the pier to allow small cruise ships to berth in Douglas.
However, Mr Robertshaw doesn't think catering for small vessels is necessarily the way forward:
