Middle member says current system not working
An MHK says he's convinced changes to work permit rules will be a positive thing for the Island
Member for Middle Bill Shimmins says the current system is not working for businesses and if government doesn't act soon opportunities will be missed.
He stresses however that changes won't be a 'magic bullet' for shortages but should work in tandem with training skilled workers on Island.
Mr Shimmins says the issue must be addressed.
