Bigger businesses avoiding scrutiny, says Thomas
A Douglas MHK says if government is to publish the details of all recipients of Covid support schemes, as planned, it should publish the details of all who've received the Financial Assistance Scheme too.
The Department for Enterprise and Treasury will publish the list next week - a move announced at the start of April after a Freedom of Information request shed light on the Covid support paid out to businesses linked to MHKs.
Chris Thomas says it would be unfair to only publish the details of organisations who claimed during the pandemic:
The information will be published next Friday. Any businesses and sole traders that feel they might suffer 'damage or distress' upon its publication are urged to contact government.
Mr Thomas will quiz the Enterprise Minister Dr Alex Allinson on this matter in Tuesday's sitting of Tynwald.
