MHK steps down from Inclusion Scrutiny Group

It follows recent departmental appointments

A Douglas South MHK has resigned from the Isle of Man Constabulary's Inclusion Scrutiny Group.

Announcing the move on Facebook last night (12 March) Sarah Maltby said she had 'reflected on her commitments' and 'sadly something had to give'.

Mrs Maltby was appointed to two new governmental departments earlier this week as part of a reshuffle by the Council of Ministers.

In addition she sits on the Poverty Committee, Tynwald Management Committee and the CPA Executive board.

She also acts as a Girl Guiding ambassador and is the political trustee for the Manx Lottery Trust.

In a statement she said: "As I choose to make myself available for constituent visits at any time of the day or night I am quickly running out of time to do everything!

"I have decided to reflect on my commitments and sadly something had to give.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed being the chair for the ISG for the past two and a half years and I am very grateful to the police officers and admin team who have supported me with both admin assistance as well as developed my experience both personally and professionally."

The new chair will be appointed by Chief Constable Russ Foster in due course.
