
An MHK says the Island needs new sports facilities to encourage youngsters inspired by the London Olympic Games to get involved in healthy outdoor activity.
Rushen member Laurence Skelly set up a Youth Action Group in the constituency to find out what facilities local youngsters would most like to see created.
A BMX track tops the list, with a skate park and hang-out shelter close behind.
The action group includes representatives from four local authorities in Rushen, its three MHKs, a local youth worker, parents and children, many of whom expressed their views on Facebook.
Mr Skelly says BMX, an Olympic sport in 2012, has wide appeal and local riders deserve somewhere to practice:
