West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas wants the Manx public to be involved in a regular overall look at the Island's tax set-up.
He made the call during Tynwald this week, suggesting something akin to the Tax Commission of the '50s and '60s.
The chief minister described any major moves on tax as 'the height of madness'.
