MHKs urged to lead by example over pay

Union makes call

It’s time for MHKs to lead by example and take a ten per cent pay cut following September’s General Election.

That’s the call from a union head on the Island.

Revised terms and conditions were introduced in April for newly-appointed government staff.

Eric Holmes of Unite says the money-saving policy should also apply to all MHKs from the autumn as successful candidates are effectively starting a new five-year term:
