Cards are 'hardwired' to stop working from 1 January
The treasury minister is advising those who save money on their MiCard to withdraw their cash before the end of the year.
From 1 January 2026, the cards are 'hardwired' to stop working.
Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says from that date, benefits or pensions will either be paid directly into people's bank accounts, via cheque, or using a replacement card which will only last for 12 months.
But he has this message for MiCard users:
Man admits several counts of fraud and wearing military uniform without permission
Initial Mooir Vannin meetings get underway
Hopes first time buyers schemes will be broadened before the next general election
