
A total of ten full-time equivalent workers in the government are involved in media and public relations.
This morning in the House of Keys, Treasury Minister Eddie Teare faced questions on the subject from Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
Mr Teare explained only five staff work in PR full-time, but a number of other workers also deal with the press as part of their duties.
But he denied suggestions from North Douglas MHK John Houghton that the press releases sent out are simply “spin and rubbish”:
