Minister expects passengers on Madeira flight to be recompensed

A senior government minister says he expects Island passengers on board an ill-fated flight to Madeira to be recompensed.

Monday's direct flight was delayed by five hours after a change in the wind direction meant the plane was too heavy to take off and up to 25 passengers had to give up their seats.

It was then further delayed, meaning those on board ended up spending the night in Portugal en route.

David Cretney is disappointed by what’s happened, although hopes direct services from the Island will continue.
