A major review of Nobles hospital is to be carried out by the West Midlands NHS.
It comes in the wake of a letter from ten consultants over the care of critically ill patients.
A team will examine the quality of care offered. Also where services need improvement and the sustainability or otherwise of Manx services.
It follows considerable criticism of the Health Minister, in particular from back bencher Kate Beecroft, about his actions in the wake of initial concerns.
The review team, from the West Midlands Quality review Service, will come to the Island in November.
It's thought it will take two months to produce the review.
Health Minister David Anderson says he wanted to get the review underway as soon as possible.
