Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says he remains unconvinced widespread CCTV coverage of the Island would be a worthwhile use of money.
He faced questions during this week’s House of Keys sitting from Bill Henderson MHK about whether such systems would help cut back on car vandalism and street crime.
Mr Watterson said although CCTV could help, it’s difficult to say spending large amounts of cash on cameras and monitors would be cost-effective.
After the sitting, he explained his concerns:
Lessons learned after snow day confusion
More than 100 firearms surrendered
Planning application to extend TT hospitality tent for new Food and Drink Festival submitted
'No tangible positives' achieved by public sector integrity line, says trade union
